Gate Labs started in 2014 to make the world's first camera-equipped smart lock, enabling trusted access to residential, commercial and rental properties. With Gate, you can unlock your door in person or from anywhere in the world. We solve a modern homeowner's problem: giving trusted access to family, friends, and common household services and deliveries while the owner is away.
Our Story
Gate founders work, travel, and live busy lives. They didn't always arrive home on time to let in service providers, such as the dry-cleaner, the grocer, the housekeeper, the dog walker, or the cat-sitter; They didn’t want to struggle with multiple key copies to give trusted people access. Many of their friends also expressed a need to see their children come home from school. With advanced academic degrees and top-tier industry experience in engineering and business, the Gate team applied their combined knowledge and experience towards solving this common problem. To achieve the vision of that modern lifestyle, Gate was born.
